Is there a difference between a bad boss and a mob boss? The mob boss is responsible for the sales and revenue of their organization. They set interest rates, payment penalties. They look for new markets and verticals to sell to and establish a hierarchy. Sounds like a typical corporate boss, right?
In the mob, if you make the boss mad, they destroy you. The boss will tear you down but rarely work to build you up. They are not concerned with your development or your future. The only thing that matters to a mob boss is that you make them money, don’t cross them, and are a good soldier.
7 Shared Traits Between a Mob Boss and a Bad Boss
- A lack of coaching/development
- Shows little respect for their employees
- Doesn’t seek to understand
- Doesn’t care about their employees
- Lies to cover up the truth
- Will not only whack you but will then dig your grave
- Puts themselves first
Bonus trait – does not want to be challenged by those under them.
Based on this list, there are no differences between a bad boss and a mob boss but with a few exceptions. A bad boss usually isn’t as powerful as a mob boss and a bad boss’s time will come, and they will be ousted out of the organization as a direct result of their bad management skills.
Don’t be a wiseguy by demonstrating these bad boss traits. Be a successful boss. Be a great boss, and leave a lasting mark on those who work under you.
