How do you Hang Your Toilet Paper?

Is there a correlation between how a leader leads and how they hang their toilet paper? If there is a right way to hang toilet paper or when it comes to leading from the front or behind this article isn’t setting out to settle that. I believe they both have their place and the best leaders know when to use each method.

Hanging the toilet paper so that it drapes from behind is like leading from behind. You do not always need the title or platform of leadership to influence others. At times you simply express it through the support of cooperation with whoever carries the title. Leading from behind is enabling others to find their leadership voice. This style helps to cultivate followers who can innovate and creates a place where everyone is given an opportunity to demonstrate a slice of genius.

Lead from the frontHanging the toilet paper so it drapes from the front is like leading from the front. Leading from the front or by example simply means you are demonstrating your leadership by going first. You are guiding, directing and setting the course. You are doing exactly what you are asking those you lead to do. Leading from the front is doing the small stuff such as picking up the trash on the floor instead of walking by it. It is modeling the way.

We need leaders who lead from the front and those who lead from behind. We need leaders who know how and when to do both depending on the situation. It really doesn’t matter which way you hang your toilet paper as long as the way it is hanging serves the greater good and both ways do that.
